My husband is 11 years older than me. I’m 29 (turning 30 in a couple months) and he is 41. For the most part we don’t notice our age gaps, but sometimes there’s references he doesn’t get of mine and vice verse. Since we didn’t get together when I was really young, no one really says anything or looks at us weird. He also looks good for his age, and has a “young soul” and has good style, so for me our relationship has never felt weird at all. I like that he is older. We have known each other for 2 years, been together for 1.5 years, married for 4 months. We also recently purchased our first home and have a baby, who is 15 weeks (3.5 months old). We have a strong bond that I have never had with anyone before and we love each other so much! He is an amazing husband and father. He works full time and I currently am a stay at home mom, but plan to go back to work/finish school after our son turns 1.

My husband also has a 16 year old son from a previous relationship, meaning I am only 13 years older than my stepson. He does not live with us. We get along, but our relationship at times has been somewhat awkward, being that he is a teenage boy. Although I am his “stepmom”, I wouldn’t say he really looks to me as a maternal or as an authority figure. But his mom isn’t in his life due to addiction and never really has been, so I hope that someday we are closer.
