Should there be a 2 hr delay when the wind chill is -24°?

So I'm kind of ticked off anyways because all week the roads have been bad in the mornings and there havent been any 2 hr delays even when every school around us was delayed or canceled. This morning its -24° with the wind chill and I really feel like at this temperature there should be a 2 hr delay. Kids shouldn't have to stand outside waiting in this cold of temperatures for the bus or to go into the school because then they have to wait another 15 mins after getting off the bus to go inside.

I live in New England and it gets cold and our winters are bad and we only have delays in the morning if the roads are too icy or snow covered.  If its -24 currently, is 2 hours really expected to make the temp jump up enough for it to be noticeable? 
Delays effect a lot of working parents so the towns around us don’t use them unless absolutely necessary.  It’s not a big deal for older kids to get to the bus later... but for elementary age kids, they can’t be left alone and a lot of people can’t stay home with them.  You’d be better off just driving your child to school or to the bus stop.

I live in TN and they put a 2 hour delay for the dumbest things. It will be like 30° and they cancel school and I'm always thinking what about those kids in -20° who still have to trudge through snow to get to school?

We're at -17, wind chill -34. Pumped gas with no gloves (like normal) and was curious what the temp was cause it was colder then usual. Didn't realize it was that cold, I thought we were in the single digits. Bundle up and it's not bad  🤷
But that's normal for our area. We're used to it, and our lives don't just stop cause it's a bit chilly.

We usually have to hit -30 wind chill before we have a delay. This morning we had an advisory with wind chills between -25 and -30 and no one was delayed.

It’s an unpopular opinion but just don’t send your kids to school then, if you find it to be too cold for them. You are their parent and are at liberty to do so. I understand not all parents have that option to stay home with their kids, the same way parents don’t get the option of calling off or showing up to work late so then what do they do with their kids for the two hour delay until they can send them to school? I would much rather just have them cancel it, then that way after school programs open up and are available for the kids to go to. At least here, that is the way that it works. I would still have to try and figure out what to do about my daughter for two hours while I would still have to go to work, when if they would have just canceled it the boys and girls club would then open up as an option for us working parents to send our kids to. Fortunately for us, they don’t do two hour delays and have just canceled school if it gets too cold with the windchill. Bundle that precious cargo up or just don’t send them.

yes, I live in NE Ohio & they would typically either fo 2hr delay or a "snow day" depending on how bad it is going to be the rest of the day. that's way too cold for the kids to be outside waiting for the bus or even the ones who have to walk to school.
