He disappeared 😟

Well about two weeks ago a guy I thought was cute and was secretly catching glances at came up to me & gave me his # we texted hours apart because he would stop texting two days apart. I asked him if he want to talk on the phone he never did. I have seen him in public 3 times after he ghosted me and he stopped speaking like he wasn’t trying to get to know me. It’s been like 12 days since he texted me back. I feel embarrassed because I wanted to get to know him. Any advice ?
