Would you let your boyfriend or girlfriend borrow a large amount of money from the ex?

So my boyfriend asked his ex for money and she said she will give him on in two days time, then he called me and asked me and although I don't have, I told him I did. I have to tell him to get the money from her or somewhere else because I cant give him.

Why does he need money? How much? Are him and his ex still friends? I have so many questions.

You shouldn’t be “letting” your boyfriend do anything. That’s not a healthy thing in relationships. 
Express your opinion by all means, if your uncomfortable with it.
I would feel uncomfortable if I was in that situation but that is purely because both mine and my partners relationships haven’t ever ended that well. So I can’t imagine borrowing money off them, ever being a good idea. 
But if they are friends and that’s it. Then there shouldn’t be an issue 🤷‍♀️
