Sleep training!
My daughter is almost 19 months old and has coslept in our bed since she was born. I think it’s going to be time to transition her to her room soon- we have a queen size bed and she likes to lay sideways, so honestly none of us get great sleep. My husband and my sex life is non existent. Our daughter is not a sound sleeper so whenever one of us moves around in the night she wakes up and cries for a bottle. I have PPA and I honestly hate the idea of her sleeping in another room. I wake up multiple times to check on her breathing and I just feel so much better knowing she’s next to me. But it’s starting to get to the point where we aren’t comfortable, she isn’t comfortable, so she wakes up to drink water 2-3 times, then needs a few diaper changes, and sometimes soaks the bed and us if she falls back asleep with the bottle or pees too much. I think it would be better for HER to start getting used to her own room. But the problem is I don’t think I could do the sleep training the standard way- to put her in her crib and for me to sleep in her room with her for a few weeks. Because if she wakes up in the night and sees me on the floor or a mattress next to her, I know for a fact she will want to get out of her crib and lay with me. So I was thinking to let her fall asleep in our bed, then move her to her crib and see how it goes? I know she’s more comfortable in her crib so maybe she won’t wake up in the night and even realize that she’s there? I just don’t want to traumatize her by moving her into her room and have her wake up scared. I’ve tried to start doing this for nap time, but for naps shes not “tired enough” I guess so she wakes up when I move her and then it’s a whole song and dance getting her to nap again. Any suggestions are welcome!! First time mom here
