ultrasound after 2 reduced movements??

i’m nearly 39 weeks and i’ve been in twice now for reduced movements and everything has been good when i’ve been there as he likes to start moving when we get there but they are sending me for a scan tomorrow. what do they do do they just check everything over? i’ve heard people say they offer an induction which i don’t want? 😊

I had 2 sets of reduced movements and was told the second time that if I didn’t go into labour within a few hours  I would be induced. I was 41 weeks and 2 days but I was already in labour. It meant I got a 1-2-1 midwife and constant monitoring as he still didn’t really want to move much. Was born incredibly healthy but it was a bit of a rush at the end

I got offered an induction when my daughter was showing signs of reduced movements. I did accept (problem pregnancy) and i got induced 2 days later and it went fine.
I then birthed her and the most enormous afterbirth known to man and they explained she was probably moving but it wasn’t being picked up due to the size of the placenta, or she was too squished from it.
Either way I’m glad I got offered induction as it didn’t affect my natural birth in anyway.

It is likely they will offer you an induction, at 39 weeks your baby is fine to be born officially class at full term at 37 weeks. For peace of mind would recommend you ask for induction if not offered. All the best

I had reduced movements at 27 weeks and 38+5 - both times all was well after being on the heartbeat monitors, but after the second time they did an ultrasound just to be on the safe side. 
The scan suggested she would be a bigger baby (estimated top end of 9lb) so they offered me induction to minimise the risk of shoulder dystocia.
I was induced at 39+2, she wasn’t that big born, a healthy 8lb 8oz but she decided to enter with an arm up and sadly fractured her collar bone but all was well otherwise and it’s caused her no trouble really (now 14w old) so I’m glad I didn’t wait for her to get much bigger as it could’ve been worse than it was. 
It’s totally your choice, but if there are good reasons to suggest induction I’d recommend weighing it up. I really really didn’t want to be induced because I wanted a water birth on MLU, my birth was far from what i planned but I believe everything happens for a reason and luckily I had a very very experienced midwife on delivery suite so as tough as it was there was still little intervention 🙂

They can’t force you to have an induction just refuse it if they offer one 😊
