How do you make it work?

My daughter is almost 9 months old. I went back to work when she was 3 months old. Everyone said it would get easier, but it’s not. It just gets harder all the time. I’m struggling so bad to cope. I hate leaving her, I don’t want to be a working mom anymore. I don’t get any time with her expect on weekends. It’s not enough. I’m so depressed everyday about going to work. Not working isn’t an option for me so I have to find a way to deal.

I'm sorry you feel that way. If it helps at all, something I try to keep in perspective is that when our children are about 5 they will be at school for 8hours a day which is the duration of the work day so I like to look at it as this is a transition every single mom has to go through whether you stay at home or work outside the home, you eventually let them go to school and learn to be independent and have a life with friends outside of their family which is very normal and healthy!  I also have had a hard time transitioning back to work and feel a lot of guilt leaving, however I know that even though I can't be with my baby all day long, I know my baby is safe, well taken care of, healthy, and happy and there's not much more I can ask for as a mom! I try to remember there are many children who don't have the opportunity to live out something as simple as going to daycare and making friends due to health or other reasons.
