Can’t find heartbeat. Should I still tell my friends?

Went to the doctor for my 10 week appointment and the doctor couldn’t find the heartbeat with the Doppler. She assured me it was normal as 10 weeks is very early for the Doppler to pick up the heartbeat. I’m going back next week to try again and have an ultrasound in 2 weeks. 
I’m having a girls weekend this weekend and was hoping all would go well at my 10 week appointment and that I could announce to my girlfriends. Should I wait to tell? Or still announce? It stresses me out that they couldn’t find the heartbeat.

If my doc can’t find the heartbeat with the Doppler, he will do a quick ultrasound. They should’ve confirmed heart beat before you left. Have you seen/heard the heartbeat via ultrasound yet?

I’d wait. They found the heartbeat with a Doppler easily for me when I was 7 weeks and 6 days. Ten weeks is still early, wait until they confirm the heartbeat and the ultrasound proves the pregnancy is viable. Unless you don’t mind telling your friends and having something potentially be wrong. I know some people want to share their pregnancy even if a miscarriage could happen. I told everyone at 9 weeks even though they say wait until 12 to be safe because for me the pregnancy still mattered even if I for some reason didn’t carry to term.

It’s still pretty early. My doctors/midwives don’t advise using a Doppler as they don’t use it until after 16 weeks to stop the fear of it not being found, stop the unnecessary worry even if everything is well

Several midwives couldn’t find it when I was 17 weeks in my last pregnancy so I wouldn’t even worry.

At my 9 week apt the dr couldn’t find it on the Doppler so she sent me for an ultrasound to see it. It is common for it to be hard find early in the pregnancy I would have requested an ultrasound earlier than 2 weeks though. Telling ur friends is up to u. As long as u still feel good and have had no bleeding or cramping I wouldn’t assume anything is wrong. And I told everyone as soon as I got a positive pee test at home. So my friends would already know. Lol.

My doctor didn’t even try to use the Doppler at my 10 week appointment. She said it wasn’t necessary because she could see the heartbeat on the ultrasound. I don’t know if your doctor was able to see the heartbeat if you had an ultrasound, but don’t be too bummed if you didn’t hear it.

I'd wait but that's just me. That's terrible though that they're going to make you wait. They should have done an ultrasound right then and there.
