Greenish-black stool 11month old
I’ve started feeding my son store boughten baby cereal again - he is 11 months old.
We started solids at 6months with the rice cereal, oat cereal, barley, etc all store bought. But he wouldn’t eat more then a small taste of it then he just started refusing it. My pediatrician advised we try some yellow veggie purées so we tried that for a bit ... still all was refused. Then he ate a mushy asparagus spear and I started making him soft finger foods and baby cereals at home (like ground oat oatmeal and ground brown rice rice cereal) but he was ill recently and I found him looking rather thin and he wasn’t eating much of the cereal I was making him so I bought some store bought cereal for his age and he ate a huge bowl. He has been for the past few days. I figured the added iron and vitamins would be good for him but tonight’s poop was a greenish-blackish turd.
Usually his poop is tan, brown or greenish with food bits (he’s breastfed as well) and usually a solid-mushy cow patty type consistency.
Is this weird coloured turd because of the infant cereal with the added iron? Do I cut back? Do I take him to see his pediatrician ? I’ve never seen this type of poop before with my other son and he ate only the store bought infant cereal.
I’m worried about my baby!
