Another crib?

So I'm pregnant again and my daughter will only be 16 months when I have the other baby... Do I get another crib for baby or get 16 month old a big girl bed?

We are having this same discussion however ours just turned 2. Hes perfectly content in his crib so unless something changes i think we will just end up buying another crib.

Our son will be 18 months old when our second comes next month. We got another crib. He’s no where near ready to sleep in a big boy bed but besides that his is a convertible crib

My first 2 are 18 months apart. We didn’t buy a second crib. Instead baby slept in a pack n play for about 4 months when the older one (then 22 months) was ready to move to a bed. It’s a twin sized bed, but very low to the ground like a toddler bed. 
My second will be 17 months when baby #3 arrives and we will use the pack n play again for this baby until my 1 year old is ready to switch.

I think it depends on your oldest. My girls are 20 months apart and we decided to get 2 cribs. My oldest is developmentally delayed and wasn’t mature enough to use a regular bed. It’s been almost 2 years since we took the side off her crib and she just now has started staying in her bed at night. My younger daughter was 2.5 before she started climbing out of her crib so to us, it was well worth having 2 cribs!

No I would either get a bad or better yet put a mattress on the floor

I’d get another! The big bed changed my perfect sleeper. I had to switch because he climbed out and it was dangerous but now he wakes up super early and just gets out of bed. I’d put that off as long as possible lol

My boys are going to be 16 months apart. We thought about just using a bassinet until our older boy is ready for a toddler bed and then switching them. But my parents have a crib at their house that we are going to borrow so they can both be in cribs until the oldest is ready for a toddler bed.

I think it depends on your kiddo. My son would not at all have been ready for a big boy bed at 16 months old. He wasnt walking yet and mentally I think he just wasnt there until about 24 months old, but I have some friends whose kids were ready at much younger ages, so it's really a judgement call youd have to make.

Thanks ladies! I'm definitely leaning towards another convertible crib. I didn't think my girl would be ready. (FTM) well I guess second now... Lol
