Boyfriends friend

My boyfriends friend seems to have some sort of problem with me. Idk what or why but he’s always saying stuff to my boyfriend about me.

About a week ago he texted me off my boyfriends phone pretending to be him and sent me break up texts. And when I phoned the phone he kept hanging up. He never once told my boyfriend that he sent me those texts and my boyfriend didn’t get the phone back till like 2am so it was like 5 hours after. Obviously I was upset as I thought my bf was dumping me by text and I think the friend was extremely in the wrong.

But my bf doesn’t see a problem with it and wouldn’t even talk to his friend about it. I told him either you do it or I do and he eventually did it but he did it in like a laughy jokey way. He never defends me when this friend says anything and I’m getting fed up tbh. He says he doesn’t want conflict but Idk.
