How do I go for it without GOING for it

I really like this guy but I get super flustered when I’m around him. We talk and we’re kinda awkward around each other but I can’t tell if he likes me back or not. I usually get really scared to talk to him but I don’t want to send the wrong signal by not talking to him at all. Any subtle suggestions as to how to let him know I like him without actually telling him that I like him???
