Sleepy Jaundice baby help..?!

Question

My boy was born on Wednesday at 10:14 pm. He has some jaundice and is very sleepy during feeds. I try changing him before or in the middle of the feed, undressing him, tickling his feet, rubbing his head ect to stimulate him to eat more. Any other things I should try? Should mention I do skin to skin as well. I’m a first time mom so any advice ill appreciate lol! Picture of my sweet boy Wylder ❤️

Try changing his diaper and dressing him down or opening his pajamas up a little to wake him. Remember mama he’s still so young and his stomach is only the size of a walnut so he may be full fast and sleepy. My 2 newborns with slight jaundice were like that, and I would just feed them every 2-3 hours as long as they would. If you worry too much you can try to pump a little so that you can measure his exact input, but if he’s pooping and peeing I would worry

Have you tried a cold wash cloth or wipe? Sometimes that or blowing on his face works for me.

LC told me to stroke under baby’s chin to get them to suck. it works! also tickling under the armpit/ribs.

Did you talk to your dr? I was told if baby had signs of jaundice and was too sleepy to feed to call so they can put baby back under the light to get rid of the jaundice.

Try laying him on a flat surface. My little baby had the same issue. Some one told me to strip her down and wipe her down with a wet wipe. Touch under her chin. Tickle her mouth. Sometimes pulling my breast out of her mouth a tiny tiny bit would make her suck a little bit. It was hard to get her to wake up. Lactation told me also to try sitting under a window with her to get her a little a bit of sun. I hope some of this helps some. It's hard!
