Opinions on this ?

This is an all the time thing when my son has to go with his dad , holidays , birthdays, etc

So my sons birthday is coming up this Thursday but i will be having a bday party for him this weekend (my weekend) dad gets him every other weekend & his dad calls me and tells me if its okay for him to pick up my son after school tomorrow so he can pick out his cake and he will give me the receipt so that I can pick it up the day of the party .

I said sure thats fine . I call my husband to tell him about it and he hung up & text me this . He says its wrong for me to allow him to buy my son a cake at a party were having for him.

& my son was crying cause he wanted to go to dada for a bit & my husband told me to tell him to stop crying other wise he wont be allowed to go over anymore

Was i wrong to allow it?
