How do you put your baby to sleep?

How do you put your baby down for naps and sleep? Do you let the baby fall asleep in your arms and let it there to sleep, do you move it to the crib, does it fall asleep while nursing, being carried around or in its own bed? Just looking to see how other mons handle it. My little girl is 4 months.

At 4 months I’m pretty sure I was nursing/rocking baby to sleep and transferring him into his cot. 
He’s 8 months now and I just put him into bed wide awake and let him fall to sleep on his own for both naps and nighttime sleep. He does that most of the time with the exception being if he’s overtired. 
I always think it’s best to do whatever works for you at the time and not what other people tell you is ‘best’.

At night around 7 we do a bath and then a breastfeed and put her straight into her bed with a pacifier. She goes to sleep on her own basically. I she’s not asleep in 15 minutes we just get her out of bed again. 
We don’t let her cry of anything but she usually just talks herself to sleep. She’s 3.5 months. Has been in her own room since 2 months and that’s how we have always put her to bed. 
HOWEVER she will NOT go to sleep like that during the day and needs to be rocked, cuddled, and have big bum wacks. Not pats.. wacks. She does wear cloth nappies so I guess she needs harder pats but she will not tolerate a little pat. I think it’s probably because its not dark? I have no idea. 🤷‍♀️

By 4 months my daughter was no longer being rocked/fed to sleep. I put her down very drowsy but awake and she would fall asleep on her own within a minute.

At 4 months I was rocking my baby to sleep and transferring him when possible. Now he's 7.5 months and I just put him in his crib awake for naps and he falls asleep on his own. At night, we snuggle, he has a bottle, and he is usually asleep before I put him in the crib.

I have always put her down drowsy for both naptime and bedtime. I've been doing it since she was a newborn with no problem. Whenever I see signs of her being sleepy I lay her down in her bed and give her a pacifier and she's out in a couple of minutes.
