How long to wait to see doctor after finding lump on breast?

While doing a monthly self exam I found a small lump on my right breast. There is also a small red mark that looks like a blemish right below the lump. I’ve only noticed it the past few day and I’m wondering how long I should wait before I call my doctor. I don’t want to overreact as I think it may just be a fatty cyst but I also don’t want to wait too long. Also, would it be better to see my gyno about this or my GP?

Are you on your period? Sometimes there are changes during cycle and some women also hv fibrous breast. I hd a dr discover lump diring gyno exam and sent me for mammogram. Dr told me dnt come bk till 40 plus🤦‍♀️. I guess im saying if youre on monthly or pmsing myb wait n see.... if not book appt.

I would rather make an appt. and cancel it if need be; then to have to wait any longer than needed. This isn't something to brush off. While for some, it can be harmless... For others timing can be everything.
