Is it normal to regret having a baby? I just had my baby 8 days back and I am in terrible condition due to episiotomy and the nights with the bby make it worse. Did you guys ever regret it this early?

I remember being in the shower and thinking “what have I done?” Well about 3 weeks after I gave birth I realized something wasn’t right and told my OB everything I was feeling and I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety. I got therapy & medication for it and I got better within a few months. Hope this doesn’t happen to you but know that you’re not alone if it does

I had a 4th degree episiotomy with my first and i remember one night how exhausted i was and i wondered why on earth i ever had a baby. The feeling did not last its very hard in the beginning but you'll be surprised how fast it goes and it gets easier as they get bigger and sleep more. Its normal to feel this way but if it persists and you are finding it difficult to cope please reach out for help you're not a bad mom for feeling this way

You could very possibly have post partum depression. Regretting having a baby is a big sign of that. I’d talk to someone, your OB can help too.

It’s normal to be dismayed. Your body has been through a LOT in the last 9 months and extra in the last 2 weeks. You’re exhausted, tore up from the pelvic floor up, and let’s face it, newborns aren’t giving you much return on investment yet. They’re pretty much googly-eyed potatoes that eat, scream, and poop. Then add in the insane hormonal shifts. 
Soak up the snuggles that you can. People say you shouldn’t let them sleep on you or you’ll ruin their sleep forever or something. 🙄 I let mine sleep on me tons because kid’s gotta warm his keep with the snuggles and he sleeps amazingly. 
Give yourself time & grace. 
Ask & let people help you. Let baby’s dad do (it’s not helping, half the work is HIS). 
Give it a little time, monitor your mood, and if things don’t start getting better, talk to your doctor about PPD/PPA. It’s real, it’s not that you’re a bad mom, and it’s not that you need to just snap out of it. They can help with other changes that might help but also, Zoloft. You can absolutely take it while nursing. 
I promise it gets better. The 4th trimester is rough. But the fun is coming.

I felt the same way. I think the pain plus hormones balancing out. If it continues or it feels worse please talk to your doctor. I felt better within a week or so, but I was just so overwhelmed initially I had to ask my husband to stay home from work longer than he had planned
