Crib timing???

Question

When did you put your baby in their crib in own room? My son has slept in a bassinet in my room since he was born. He has really bad reflux so putting him in the crib in his own room terrifies me. My son is three months old and sleeps though the night. There is really no need for him to be in our room other than the reflux. My husband isn’t ready for the baby to sleep in his own room yet, ( our baby choked and stopped breathing in the hospital while he was back getting his shots and my husband witnessed it so he’s even more scarred than I am) he even offered to move his crib into our room. But I’m afraid I’ll just keep putting it off and I’ll never do it or that when I do it will be the fight from hell. Any advice am I being crazy?

Our aim is a 6 month transition. If our baby winds up having reflux, this may change. I wouldn’t move baby yet if I were you personally, especially with hubby being so apprehensive - there’s no reason to rush it

If your husband is that uncomfortable with it, don't rush it. I'm not an expert, but I believe babies outgrow reflux at some point; maybe he'll be more comfortable then? 
The recommendation is to roomshare for 6-12 months. The highest SIDS risk is from 2-6 months and there is some evidence that sharing a room and especially breastfeeding at night can reduce this risk (though if baby's sleeping through I assume he's not getting any night feeds). 
We moved my son's crib into our room when he outgrew the bassinet and this made the eventual move to his room at 6 months very smooth.

Our son has reflux too and we didn’t move him into his own room until 4.5 months because of it. He ended up sleeping way better in his own space (probably had the dogs and my husband’s snoring waking him up lol). But he never choked or stopped breathing with his spit up, so I think your concern is very valid. I’d be super worried too. I’d consider talking to the pediatrician about it and seeing what they say.

We moved our oldest at the 9/10 week mark and our current at the 12/13 week mark. Our LO also has reflux m, so I was very nervous - I don’t think I slept much the first week. We just ensured the monitor was close enough to him and turned the volume up to hear every noise. It was exhausting at first, but we got over it. We now sleep with the monitor on the lowest volume, and I hear him just fine (5 months old now). 
Do what’s best for your family. 💕 Glad your LO is okay - that had to be very scary.

We never dealt with reflux but my first baby bedshared until around 3/4 months. Then slept in a pack n play in our room another couple months. Then we moved her into her room at 6 months. The first night she woke up more than normal but each time I went in I didnt take her out of the room (we used to walk around a lot) diapers, feeding, snuggling, rocking... Everything was done in there with the lights off (night lights by the changing station is a MUST!!) after that first night she's been just fine. I've actually tried napping with her in my bed since then (she's now almost 14 months) and it cannot be done. 😂 She prefers her bed alone now.

4 months. I’m well aware of the recommendations, but honestly it was the best thing we ever did. He was sleeping through the night at 5 months, putting himself to sleep in his crib at 6 months. Still a fight to get him to nap in his crib though, he wants to be held while he naps.
If your husband doesn’t think it’s a good idea yet, let baby sleep in your room a little longer. It should be a decision you both agree on.

My son is 8 months old and still sleeps in our room. I keep saying we're going to move him but then we feel the three of us are not ready everytime we think we're ready.

If baby is sleeping well in your room I would wait to move him until atleast 6 months. We moved my daughter around a month old because she slept horribly in our room.
