Rice cereal at 4 months?

My daughter is definitely showing signs that she’s ready to have cereal. She sits on her own for 15-20 seconds. Always trying to grab for my food. My dr said I can mix it with breast milk and start trying twice a week until 5/6 and gradually give more. But not to start anything else until 6 months. 
Anyone else giving their babies cereal? Can it lower my milk supply?

Obviously it's your choice as her mother.... And if you have spoken to a doctor then it's up to you.
From experience I started my son around 6 months and will do with my daughter.
There's no rush.... Just because she's reaching out for things doesn't mean she's wanting to eat.... At this age they are learning to use their hand/eye coordination and will literally grab anything to put in their mouths 😂
Milk provides what they need right now right up until 1year...food is more for fun and trying textures and taste 😊
Lots of mamas try with baby cereal first though around this time so... Each to their own! I currently have a fussy toddler to feed so I'm in no rush to wean my youngest just yet 😂😑

This is my own experience, of course yours could be different but this is the advice I have to offer. My dr told me to start cereal yesterday because of her weight being lower than expected, so I did. I’m here to say DONT do it. I just spent the last 3 hours trying to soothe her because of awful awful gas that I’m positive was caused by her having cereal so soon. Shes only had it twice. I ’m not giving her it anymore, I’ve never heard her scream like that before. Their little tummies truly are not ready for it.
