Would you sign a prenup?

So my boyfriend and I were generally talking about whether or not we would sign a prenup. We both agreed that to be asked would be hurtful but at the end of the day, he wouldn't sign it. So I continued to ask him if divorce did happen, would he take everything he could and he said "obviously". And that's where I'm like THIS IS WHY PEOPLE ASK FOR PRENUPS. He then moved to clarify that he would only take half of their shared assets, not assets that were his partners before they were together. But honestly, I don't believe him and people change, are influenced by others, and become bitter/entitled.

Given the context of our relationship with me almost always paying more for dates, gifts, bills, etc. and probably will be in the future as well (since he's chosen career path wont make much), I guess it was just annoying that he understood why people ask for prenups but wouldn't sign it because he would benefit from it.
