Getting off birth control

I have been on birth control since I was 13 and now 22. I have Hashimoto’s and can not find anything to help me feel better and myself again. I have now decided my last resort is trying to get off birth control, to hopefully lose weight, lower the inflammation in my body and help with my overall health. I am married, and not sure if I want to do the non hormonal IUD, since I have been reading negative reviews. I have irregular periods, what would be the best way for me to track my fertility so I do not get pregnant?
