How long does your LO nurse?

I can’t get my 8 week old to nurse more than 7-8 minutes during the day and I hate pumping 😔 . At night he cluster feeds and will nurse longer . Any suggestions ? how old is your baby and how long does baby nurse ?

My son does really short feedings, generally 3-5 mins. He is gaining weight well and I’ve asked a lactation consultant and my son’s pediatrician and neither are concerned. He just eats a decent amount quickly. If baby is acting satisfied and gaining weight, no need to worry so much (easier said than done - I’m good at worrying about everything!)

Listen to your baby's needs! If they gain weight and seem content then you're doing well! My little girl eats maybe 10-15 minutes sometimes less. And she jumped from 11lb 7oz to 11lb 13oz in a weekq

10 minutes or less every 2-3 hours. 2 months as of the 26th. Doctor says he’s one of the biggest he’s been seeing. 13lbs. If he’s having enough wet diapers I wouldn’t worry.

10 weeks old tomorrow. Mine eats every 2-2.5 hrs during the day for only 6-8 minutes on average. She’s a fast and efficient eater lol doesn’t waste her time! 😂 She usually has one longer feed before bedtime, then only feeds once between 3-4am for about 8 minutes. She’s gaining just fine! I don’t pump at all ever.
Don’t worry about the time - sounds like he’s just a quick eater. ☺️ Maybe stretch the feed before bedtime a little longer if you can, that way he’ll fill up more and cluster feed less during the night? (I’m no pro but that helped us around 8 weeks.

Mine eats a lot in the morning and less as the day goes on.  I hate pumping abd mostly just deal with the discomfort in my boobs.  I really should pump.  I figure eventually my boobs will adjust, though.

My 8 week old only nurses max 15 minutes but on average 7-8 minutes every 2.5 ish hours. I do supplement with expressed milk in a bottle in the evenings when my supply is lower. He only snacks about 5 minutes three times a night.
