Is it okay to have just one kid ? My mother in-law, mother, and grandma said I would be sentencing my child to a lonely childhood if I didn’t have another.

I had Hypermesis Gravidarum from when I found out I was pregnant - 37 weeks and was hospitalized for 6 weeks for how severe it was and was put on bed rest for 20 weeks for it after that. I had Cholestasis from week 25-37 (was induced at 37 weeks). I had a 4 day labor (they wouldn’t give me the epidural til I was at 6cm) had a dry birth, and baby was stuck hitting my pubic bone for 6 hours. I had postpartum hemorrhaging and ended up almost dying from it because I lost 4.3 pints of blood due to the attending OB (not my OB) manually pulling out and tugging out the placenta by the umbilical cord instead of her letting me naturally deliver it.

Because of that mistake (according to my OB who was supposed to deliver me )I had to have 3 D&Cs (one each week postpartum) done to remove placenta pieces left inside and to clear out the 6cm blood clot inside , and 3 blood transfusions (1 each week for the postpartum hemorrhaging)

I had severe anemia for 3weeks - (my blood count was at a 5 )

got endometritis- and a blood infection- from the placenta pieces left inside. I also got internal stitches from a hole in my uterus that the OB caused when she ripped out the placenta.

So I’m pretty scarred and don’t want to risk going through that again 😓
