Are play pens pointless for a 9.5 month old?

Just wondering if they are worth the money or if I’ve waited too long and she won’t be interested now at almost 10 months.

I just started using mine so I can put baby (8 months) down somewhere (now that there is no swing or bouncer or etc) while I change laundry, run out to get the mail, even to quick shower.  I set him in with a few toys and he’s usually content and I know he’s safe.  Totally worth it for me because I don’t use the crib for those situations as I want it to be a sleep area, not a play area.

I personally wouldn’t. They start standing and stepping more and then start wanting to run around.

I’ve had a big playpen for my son since about 8 months. It’s nice to put him in with toys and stuffed animals to get things done. He’s 10 months now, standing, and he gets really pissed when I put him in there. He eventually gets over it, but I think he gets bored. 
Oh well little guy, can’t have you crawling and furniture walking the house while I poop.

My daughter is 15 months old and she is still in a play pen. It takes up almost my whole living room. But I will probably have to stop using it because she is now trying to climb it. It's a good place to have independent play and a safe place to put them if you have other things you have to do like laundry, take the animals out, etc.

Nope- my son hated his pack n play ( I  around 9 months.  He only wanted to walk around and explore and play.
When I need to shower I have him in the bathroom with me with lots of toys and books. 
For me I spent an extra 50$ as a single mom and it was pointless );

Every kid is different but I used until around 1&1/2 year old. That where my son when went I took a shower or had to do laundry. It was my safe spot for him. I put the tv on for him and he was happy. I only stop because he could climb out.
