Am I wrong?

I have a very religious family and they’re against alcohol. My husband and I are not huge drinkers but our friends are. For our co baby shower we’re having a big barbecue and my husbands friends want to drink. I agreed to let them golf that morning and drink then but out of respect for my family I discouraged (didn’t say no outright) bringing alcohol back to the barbecue. My husband agreed but was upset, am I wrong? I just want that day to be full of fun, and not have to stress about offending family.

Edit: I did however tell my family that it’s a public park and we can’t keep them from bringing it if they do.
