Am I doing food wrong?

I have an eight month old who I also breastfeed. Except for giving him the boob on demand, I give him two pureed/mashed meals, usually oatmeal with mashed fruit in the morning and then a mashed or pureed lunch or dinner. But he only eats about 1-2 ice cubes of puree/mash. Then I also complement that with "blw", so he'll get fruit, sandwiches, vegetables, potatoes etc to every meal we are eating. He loves to eat on his own, but it's just a few bites.

I know you shouldn't compare, but I can't help but to notice my friends children who are the same age are eating a full meal of food when they eat and are replacing breastfeeding sessions with a meal, and my baby is very far away from that. Am I doing something wrong? He seems to enjoy food and think it's fun, but he still wants to breastfeed after every meal, no matter when a meal is offered. He can breastfeed right before a meal and still want to breastfeed after.
