How do you switch your kid from one clothing size to the next?

If I put it on and it seems too small I toss it in the good will box...I buy things randomly too lol... I have no pattern

It really depends on the brand, he's 10 months and wears children's place 6-9, Carter's 9-12 and grew out of gaps 6-12. It's so weird.

I do it as they grow out of items. Usually my kids grow out of pajamas first. Then tshirts. I keep the box of current sized clothing in their closet and put small items in as needed. When it’s time to go up a size, I get the next size box out and start filling in as needed.

Mostly all at once but I check each piece....sometimes certain things are cut differently and I will hold on to it.

Definitely piece by piece. My daughter is on the shorter side so she's usually wearing smaller pants even while she's up a size in tops. On top of that clothing brands are so inconsistent. She has some 18 month that are still big on her and some that would be way too short and/or tight.

My daughter has 2T shirts that barely fit her, and 2T shirts that are huge in her. In 2 years I have seen little consistency in children’s clothing sizes. I generally go piece by piece because each piece of clothing is different than the next.

I start off piece by piece because each brand is sized differently and my daughter is tall so she grows out of pants before shirts. Eventually I get annoyed putting things on her that don’t fit so I just put all of that size away.

I usually start collecting stuff in the next size up in advance before my son actually needs it to make sure I’m prepared, then by the time he needs the next size it’s all there ready for him and he doesn’t have to wear pants that are too short or anything before I’ve had a chance to replace them.

He hasn’t grown out of every item at the same time yet. I usually get a variety of the suit sets from target and mix them into the bunch while I pull smaller items out piece by piece. He is long and skinny, so onesies tend to go first, but he’s always been able to wear down in pants, they are just a little short.
