Husband won’t let me buy makeup. Controlling or no?

Hi everyone.

So, my husband went to the store for a couple of groceries, and I called him to ask him to pick me up some foundation and concealer because I’m almost out. He asked, “no, why do you need that? Who are you trying to impress?” I don’t wear a lot of makeup. I usually just wear concealer, foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. He always asks me who I’m trying to impress when I put on makeup to go out. It’s just for myself so I feel better about myself. What do you think his issue is? Do you think this is out of insecurity or is he being controlling?
