Would you be upset if your spouse didn’t get or plan anything for your anniversary?

1. Yes I got him a gift.
2. He doesn’t have anything planned as he told me and he told me to make dinner. I asked if should make dinner or did he have plans. He said no he didn’t make any.
3. Money isn’t an issue
4. He got off at 2:00 p.m. today. He could’ve stopped and got flowers and a card at least. 
5. He opened my gift.... I made him a calendar of us with all of our pictures. Took a lot of time and it meant something to me. He just said thank you and went and started playing a video game.
6. Trying not to be mad, but I’m like really? Smh 🤦‍♀️ 
7. He would be furious if I didn’t buy or do anything for him.

I want to do something special for our anniversary I plan it. If I want him to do something special for us I tell him what I want him to do. Open, clear communication truly is the key.

I think it also depends on your love language.. I like to have some thought put into a gift... my love languages are quality time and gifts... but I also set that expectation early on in the relationship and I communicated very clearly... there have been years, where we were both so busy (baby being born, renovating our home, job losses) so we either rain checked or made it up next time, but we also acknowledge and communicate....

My husband and i typically have a conversation before holidays/birthdays/anniversarys and talk about expectations. We arent always in the position for big things or sometimes just agree that its not necessary.
This is what works for us and prevents misunderstandings.

I wouldn’t even care. If my husband even remembered our anniversary, I’d think he had a stroke. 
I knew that my husband didn’t have a romantic bone in his body before I married him, so I never expect any pre-planned, grand gestures from him anyway. What matters most to me is how he treats me on a day-to-day basis.
