Travel during a pandemic

My SO wanted to make my bday special. So she paid for a vacation to the Dominican Republic for next week.

I don’t know wether to go and risk getting covid.

Or canceling the trip and staying home.

I’d like to hear others opinions please. I’m beginning to get very worried as the travel date nears.

She can potentially lose the refund within after 24 hours of purchase.
