It’s 2 months too early?

Question

Is 2 months old too early for baby to be sleeping in his own room in his crib? Right now he is in a pack n play with a bassinet insert.
Would the crib mattress be too dangerous this early? I read they need firm surfaces but I don’t know how firm? We have the appropriate mattress for his crib

Crib mattress is firm enough even at that age. They do recommend baby in your room for 6-12m to reduce the risk of sids. But lots of people out baby in their room that early (or earlier)

We had to move our son to his own room and crib super early. He was almost 4 weeks old. No one, including him, was sleeping. 
He’s now 8 months and falls asleep on his own and prefers the crib to our arms or anything by else.

We did 2 months with both of our sons in a bassinet in our room. Then I was ready to put them in a crib in their own room. I found the earlier you can do it the easier it will be. My first son I transitioned at 2 months, my second was at 3 months (he was a bit trickier with sleep). I found that everyone sleeps better in their own room.

It’s fine. Take a minute to look at your mattress. I had no idea one side was firmer for babies and the other side is softer for toddlers.

Not to early! My daughter hated her bassinet so we moved her to the crib the second night home. We brought the crib in our room and she stayed in our room for the first year :) it really is what works for you!
