Is 3.5 years a big age gap between siblings?

Or is that still considered close in age?
Also is 5 years apart less likely that the kid would be close to his or her cousin? 
I want a close family.

My brother is almost 6 years older than me and we always had so much fun as kids. It was fun because he could introduce me to a lot of new games and whatnot that he would pick up at school. Idk why people think if there’s anymore than two years between children that they won’t get along well or be close. I actually think it’s better because at least in my experience, the kids who’s siblings were really close in age as them, they would fight and argue all the time. I still fought with my brother from time to time, but it was very different. There will probably be at least three years difference between my daughter and the next baby. To me, a big age gap between siblings is like ten years.

My kids are 5 years apart and I think it has helped a lot. My oldest understood better about bringing a new baby home and has just absolutely fell in love with his baby sister she is now 2 weeks old. He has been such a big help as well. Its your choice on the age just whenever feels right to you.

My sister and i are 2 years, my brother and i are 3 1/2 years. Hated each other as kids. My oldest sister was 7 years and we had a great relationship

No I don’t think so at all! I’m the eldest of three sisters and my mom and her siblings all live within five minutes of each other so all us cousins are super close, but the age difference is much different between some of us! 
1. Me: 17 yrs old
2. My cousin: 16 yrs old
3. My sister: 14 yrs old
4. My sister: 13 years old
5. My cousin: 13 years old
6. My cousin: 7 yrs old
Even though there is four years between me and my youngest sister and ten years between me and my youngest cousin, we all love each other so much and get along the same with everyone! ❤️❤️❤️

I don’t think that’s a large age gap at all. Me and my cousins are all 3 years apart and grew up together and have always been very close. 
My eldest is 7 years older than my second and I honestly love it. They may be at different stages in life but it made things so easy when I had my second and they are very close and play with each other all the time. My next will only be 19 months younger than her big sister and to me this is terrifying. I’m all for bigger age gaps 😅 
I just think it can get hard again when you have a newborn and a teenager. Like a 14 year old or so. I think that would be my limit

I personally love big age gaps. I have a 2.5 year gap between my kids and am honestly not a fan. 3.5 is the absolute lowest I’d go if I have another, but ideally my next gap would be 5 years.

We shooting for 3.5-4.5 year age gap. We can’t afford another child right now - daycare is expensive and we want to make sure that we’re saving for our 1st college before having a 2nd child. So unless a grandparent gives us money (unlikely) we’ve chosen to be proactive in saving.

Personally, I think anything between 2 to 4 years is a good age gap. My twins will be 3.5 when baby #3 is born.
