When do you get up with your baby at night?

My husband thinks I should wait until my son is crying to get up. I usually get up whenever he wakes me up with thrashing around, loud hand sucking, after an audible poop or babbling. My baby is 12 weeks and I usually do 1 to 2 feeds at night/early morning & a diaper change with each feed. My little guy will often sleep through the diaper change if I do it after nursing. 
I always wake the baby up by 630/7 to feed him before work. Sometimes I can sleep and nurse and I don't feel too exhausting

I think it’s great to respond before they cry. I have a 6.5 month old and I’ve never let her cry if I can help it. She’s a really happy and confident baby.

I will wait until he starts to fuss. Sometimes he’d soothe himself back to sleep and that’s important for him to learn how to do. I don’t mean cry it out, I just mean if he woke up and was moving around or babbling and not cry for me I didn’t see the point in going to him yet.

I wait until they start fussing. Often the moving around is just a change in their sleep cycle and they settle down after a couple minutes, it’s normal for babies (and adults) to move while sleeping. It can actually wake them up and disturb their sleep to get them up as soon as they start moving around.

I went to my daughter when she cried (unless obviously you know they've pooped) they often stir in the night and will self soothe and if they need you cry. If you get them when it's not really needed they won't learn how to self soothe and will get harder as they get older

I dont let my baby cry. I respond to his needs immediately.

I would let my kids grizzle for a minute or 2 before going in to them, because often they’d go back to sleep on their own

You should tell your husband that before any of his own needs are met, he has to be so uncomfortable, he has to be thrashing around, pissed, and on the verge of tears (I mean your husband, not your baby).

Well our babe was in her crib at that point so we relied on crying. Of course we had 2 monitors - just audio and audio/vid.

I would wait until he fussed. I didn’t want him to be worked up and have a hard time feeding and settling, but also babbling and moving around is fine.

Out of impulse I pop right up as soon as he thrashes or moves around just a habit I guess. I go down and make his bottle and then get him and feed him, i never let him cry just my personal choice he rarely cries now only when he's teething or really tired.
