Baby eating too much?

My baby is about 1.5 weeks old and she can sometimes eat 6oz of formula within an hour. She usually eats 3oz at once every 2-3 hours, but once or twice a day for the past couple of days she has been crying nonstop and giving us all the cues that she’s still hungry and will eat about 6oz. I feel like we should not be feeding her that much but nothing else will stop the cries except eating more. Anyone else’s baby eat a ton this little?

My daughters have always been the same way! My youngest is currently 10 weeks (I think? haha) and she has days where she’ll eat pretty much nonstop from the time she wakes up to the time she goes to bed. Every baby is different and they all go through phases as well. This week he could be super hungry and eating a ton while next week you might find he eats nothing. As long as he’s not spitting it up, he’s totally fine!

My son was born 8lb 6oz and drank a crap ton for the first 6 months of his life. Albeit I don’t think it was necessarily that much but it was still more than average. I was also concerned about it but my doctor told me that because he’s bigger, it made sense he takes in more but even if he weren’t, every baby’s needs are different and you can’t overfeed an infant. Infants are pretty good at knowing when they’re hungry and when they’re full. You can never go wrong by following your baby’s cues. Of course, definitely consult your pediatrician above anyone on the internet, but I personally believe she’s fine if that’s what she needs. That is definitely a lot for her age though so I’m impressed that her body can even hold that lol.

6oz is waaayy too much for a 1.5wk old. It is very common to mistake other signs for “hunger cues”

At that age they should barley be eating 2oz every 2-3 hours.
