Timing is wrong

This guy and I dated for a short time and it was great, sadly we’re both not ready and time isn’t on our side. I recently got out of a toxic relationship so I need to be alone for a while & Heal. We spoke today over the phone after a while and we both said how we’re not over each other but right now isn’t the time for us & time will tell us what’s going to happen. We said how maybe in the future if we’re both single and ready, maybe we will try again. I’m slowly starting to accept it for what it is but sometimes it still sucks :( and I get hit by sadness.. any advice ?
