Hsv2 but no outbreak

Okay so I have a friend who have herpes but she say she doesn’t have outbreaks but her first one was last year in November and she haven’t had an outbreak then.. and she doesn’t have any symptoms and not taking any medicine.. could it be she doesnt have herpes because she’s been dating this guy and he went to get tested and he doesn’t have it ? So I told her about this chat about hsv2 and I told her I’ll ask you guys so can someone who have hsv hell ?
