Yeast infection

TMI.. So I noticed I had a yeast infection about 5 days ago, I used the 3 day monistat and I ended up starting my period on my second day of using it. My last application was last night. I’ve been using a pad, I feel a bit better, only my clit still stings and itches a little bit, but not as much as before. But I hate hate hate using pads, so my question is.. could I use a tampon now or am I better off using the pads?
