Thrush?

I was hoping someone may be able to advise me a little. Obviously I’d go the doctors if it was an option but my GP surgery isn’t open on Sundays and even if they were, they’re not doing face-to-face appointments and there’s a wait to be seen.

For reference I’m 25. I’ve never had a vaginal thrush infection before, so I don’t know if the symptoms I’m experiencing are signs of infection or if I’m just a bit irritated (I had a fair bit of sex over a couple of days after not having any since last year. He’s bigger than anyone else I’ve been with and I couldn’t actually have sex the third days because he’d bruised my cervix. I’m not sure if this could be causing the irritation which is why I mention it. My symptoms started two days after we last had sex).

So the first symptom I had was a bit of itching. I thought my underwear might have been irritating it, but the itch hasn’t really gone away. It’s nothing so unbearable that I can’t stand to not itch, but it’s definitely there and uncomfortable. When I considered I might have thrush, I checked my discharge. I wouldn’t say it remarked anything like cottage cheese, but it was definitely like thick and clear, but with a few small white lumps. I can’t say I’ve noticed that kind of discharge before.

There is absolutely no odour to my discharge. There’s also no pain during urination. I would hazard a guess and say I do have one, but usually people on here have much more obvious symptoms than this.

What I want to know is has anyone else had a thrush infection with milder symptoms like mine? And if I was to buy an over-the-counter treatment and use it without being tested first by a doctor, would anything bad happen? I’m not allergic to any medicine. I was going to purchase the single-dose oral tablet with external cream to get rid of it ASAP.

Thanks for any help!
