Covid test?

Have my 38 week appointment tomz and I’m going to a birth centre. They don’t make you have the covid test but they can give me it if I want it. 
What’s everyone’s thoughts on getting the test before labor? I really want to deliver at birth centre but if I’m positive then I can’t and need to go to hospital. I have no symptoms and been safe but my other kids have been playing soccer recently. 
What happens if I was positive and had baby, does the baby get kept from you for quarantine? 
Don’t know what to do!!

If you're tested positive then for the babies safety they will make you quarantine. Our hospital makes it mandatory to get tested. But if they try to keep my child away from me all hell will break lose

Nope!  They are making me take it at the hospital.  I say if the RNs and MDs only need screening, then it’s only fair to do the same for patients too (assuming you don’t have any symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with it).  They said if I decline, they treat me as a positive case and my baby will be taken away!  So cruel!!
My feeling is that the staff is WAY more likely to be carriers/transmitters because they are around the public all day versus me who has been home since March! 🙅🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I am giving birth at a birthing center and I will not be tested but i lost my job and don't go out so im not concerned. 
You should ask the birthing center what their policy is if you get tested and its positive. As far as I can tell, not all facilities have the same procedures.

I would bc I think it is just better for everyone to know. Don’t want to put baby or staff at risk if you do have it.  ❤️

It’s mandatory here. My sil tested positive she had an option to stay with baby or have the hospital look after baby. My bil also did so they made him go home after the birth. They had to clean and sanitize their house before allowed to leave the hospital and speak with health services planning fallow up tests.

My hospital requires but your husband is still allowed and you’re still with your baby even if it’s positive.
