Possible progesterone reaction?

Aimee

I am currently taking progesterone suppositories and I have been off and on for about a year. I’ve been taking them consistently (every day) for about a month. End of June, I started getting random rashes. They were annoying, but nothing too terrible. The last 2-3 weeks....the rashes are HORRIBLE. I try not to scratch, but it’s almost impossible. I have some sores because of the scratching. Right now, I have the rashes on the outside of my arm, top and side of my boob, my hips, and my butt cheeks. Originally, I was thinking it was heat rash, but I would expect those to be under or between my boobs or on the inside of my thighs.

I’ve beer trying to think of every possible thing that could be causing this. My husband mentioned hormonal changes. I started googling and stumbled upon something talking about an allergic reaction to progesterone in the form of a rash.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to have an allergic reaction to progesterone suppositories without a reaction in the place where the suppository is inserted? No rash issues down there. I haven’t noticed any other issues outside of the rashes I described above.
