Positive birth stories please?

Please share your positive birth stories with me? Epidural, no epidural, c-section. As long as it’s not traumatizing (because I’m terrified of giving birth) I would love to hear it!

Girl you got this! My son was born early, 38w 2d but I knew he was going to be born that day. Let me start off by saying that this is my first child. I planned a natural, unmedicated water birth at a natural birth clinic 1.5 hours away from my home. 
I started having contractions the night before, very light and honestly I had no idea they were contractions at first. Felt like strong period cramps. I was supposed to work that day, called off and told them I was starting my maternity leave early because baby was coming (no one believed me). Contractions were anywhere from 20-30 minutes apart, lasting 30-60 seconds. At 1pm, told my sister to pack her bag because the baby was coming (I could only bring one other person besides my husband due to COVID). At 2pm we are leaving the house to go pick up my sister. She lives 40 minutes away but she lives only 50 minutes from the birth clinic. Husband stops by to get some snacks at a gas station because I hadn’t eaten and couldn’t honestly. I ate by force (a cliff bar). Here’s where it gets blurry and crazy for me:
We get to my sisters, midwife tells me to do Mile Circuit exercises to help push baby down (we had been in contact with her since earlier that day). I started off with the first exercise and when I got up on my knees to go pee, POP my water breaks all over my sisters carpet. Husband and sister froze for a sec until I had to repeat that my water broke lol. This was 3pm. Then the contractions intensified x100. Husband gets on the phone with the midwife, midwife knowing it’s my first tells him to put me in a tub of warm water but my instincts are yelling NO. This baby is coming and he’s coming FAST. My contractions then went to every 5 minutes lasting no less than 60 seconds. We haul ASS to the birth clinic. Now remember I mentioned my sister lives 50 minutes away. My husband is driving while I’m in the front seat feeling every bump on the road and holding tight for dear life whenever I felt the contractions. Sister is on the phone with the midwife the entire time. About 20 minutes left to get to the clinic, I tell my husband to hit the gas and I didn’t give a f*** if we got a ticket but the baby was coming because the urge to push was too much. 50 minute drive turned into a 30 minute drive (no ticket thankfully) and as soon as we got there, the midwife and nurses pulled me out of the car, into a room, pulled my clothes off and put me into the warm tub. I instantly felt so much better. The midwife checked me and I was 9cm. She told me that whenever I felt the urges to push, I could do so. Relief!!
I listened to my body the entire time. I took the time between each contraction to relax as much as I could. My sister recorded the whole thing and I’m even smiling and laughing at some parts (I see the video and now say I must’ve been crazy). At 5pm, my son was born. 
No complications, small skin tear but no stitches. I was amazed and so were the midwives and nurses at how fast my labor was considering it was my first. I think your mentality has a lot to do with it. Also having the right people with you (my husband and sister). I chose my sister because her aura brings me peace. My husband naturally brings me peace as well. Even if laboring and giving birth was painful, it was tolerable. The pushing brought so much relief too. I loved feeling every part, knowing each time it brought my baby closer to me. I felt EVERYTHING and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. If I ever get pregnant again, I’m opting for another unmedicated water birth and hoping for the same outcome.

I have had two smooth uncomplicated unmedicated vaginal births. With my first, I had contractions every hour all night long and they just got progressively closer together and stronger. I actually had a midwife appointment that day because it was my due date, and the midwife said she could feel my waters bulging and that I was likely in early labor. She was right- my daughter was born seven hours later 😂
With my second, I had no signs of labor. My water gushed/broke at 3am. Called my midwife who said to go back to sleep and wait for contractions to start, but if they didn’t start within twelve hours, we would need to have some interventions to “get things moving.” Well, there was no going back to sleep... I started having contractions 30 minutes later and they ranked up pretty quickly. By the time we got to the hospital, I was already 10 cm and fully effaced... baby was born 40 minutes after we arrived lol 
Your body was made for this! You can do it!

I was due on April 2nd. Had a sweep on my due date (literally thought I was going to die). The following morning when I woke up at 8:15 I had This weird pain. Can’t even describe it. It was jus nothing I’d had before. Trust me when I say you just know. So I told my other half I thought I was in labour. He didn’t believe me. I didn’t believe myself. I got up, showered, dressed, had breakfast. Called my sister and told her and then her and my partner sat at the kitchen table watching my every move like I was jus going to drop this baby like a ping pong ball. The pain was coming and going. Some where long and painful some were short and not soo bad. Then I decided I wanted a number 2. Did I. Didn’t I. So I went. And the pain eased off. There was uproar. All that fuss just for a poo 👀😂. Within an hour they came back. Same again, On, off, no pattern at all. So I called my midwife, explained how I felt and she came back with no your not in labour. She was wrong 😂😂. Around 5:30, rush hour, I decided it was time for a trip to the hospital 💁🏼‍♀️. At this point I was in agony. Couldn’t sit down just needed to stand. They examined me I wasn’t at all dilated. Not even a CM and was sent on my way with 2 cocodamol 🙄. By the time I got back home it was pain I’ve never felt. I couldn’t sit; I couldn’t stand, couldn’t lie down so I opt for a shower 💁🏼‍♀️ this did not help. 10:30pm and I was back on my way to the hospital. When I got there my midwife was a word I shall not use.. I was in agony. Any other examination and I was only 1cm. At this point i was ready to throw myself into a boiling pot of granny’s horrific porridge and was demanding an epidural. And when I say demanding I mean threatening 👀. They agreed and I was ready to
Make my way to delivery. 1.5CM is where we need to focus here. So after walking and mooing down the corridor I was offered the wonderful gas. Oh the gas. The amazing gas!! Take the gas! Around 11:30 I was examined to attach a clip to baby’s head and walah
I was 6.5cm. IN AN HOUR!!! It was al systems go to get this epidural in let me tell you. Didn’t take in a word of what the anesthetist told me. THE GAS 🤤. As the epidural was going in around 12am I was ready to push. No no goes my midwife. your not there yet love. Oh love, I’m there. This baby is coming and with That came my daughter at 1:21am. The epidural didn’t have chance to kick in and I had 1 tiny stitch 💁🏼‍♀️. Can’t wait to do it all again 🙃

I had a very easy labor and delivery. My water broke at 7:30am just as I woke up.. but I had no idea. Just noticed extra wetness, and a little blood when I wiped.. so we went to the hospital. I was only 35w. But sure enough, water broke. A few hrs later, after being on Pitocin, the contractions started but were totally bearable. Once they started getting to be too much, I got an epidural to save my energy. That went really smoothly. 
Then before I knew it, I was 10cm and started pushing. Only pushed for 27min and he was out! Placenta came out and everything was wonderful.

My first birth was hard and ended in a csection BUT it was 100% doable.  My second was a uncomplicated vbac.   It was so awesome. Birth is scary but it is doable.  Our bodies were designed for this.   You are strong enough to do it!

With my first son my water broke at home. When I got to L&D I got an epidural. It started to wear off by the time I was ready to push. Pushed for 5 minutes and my baby boy was here. 
With my second son, I got to L&D at 10cm dilated and was told I was too late for an epidural. They didn’t even have enough time to put an IV in me. I had my baby within 15 minutes of being there. 
In my opinion, no epidural was better and quicker from what I experienced. But everyone’s different! Do what you feel is best for you and your baby! Good luck💕

Honestly labour was hell up until I got the epidural. Just so painful! (obviously lol). But aside from that I had an amazing nurse that took care of me all day. She was compassionate, kept me calm and was very attentive. My OB was out of town, so I had the doctor on call delivering my baby. He was great and really nice. Once I got the epidural, I was happy as could be lol. I pushed for exactly 1 hour and during that time the environment was so peaceful and chill. Honestly like friends hanging out. Between my contractions, the nurses and doctor were having casual conversation, talking about camping and their plans for summer lol. My delivery was actually the most enjoyable part and wrapped up a crazy few days in the hospital. I was induced and it took almost 4 days for my baby to come. There were definitely scary and traumatic parts to it, but overall I have a very good memory of my daughters birth. Im having baby #2 in november and im nervous that it won't be like my first, I feel like i got lucky!

My first birth was 2.5 hours long from start to finish, I had him with NO pain meds!! It went literally as smooth as possible, other than he was born at 36 weeks. My second I chose to be induced at 39 weeks because he was measuring a little on the larger side, so I went in for my induction, got an epidural around 3 hours in and he was born 2 hours later. He was over 9lbs and I had no tears and needed no assistance getting him out☺️ the entire labor the second time was 5.5 hours! I consider myself very lucky to have had such smooth births! Good luck, you can do this!!👏🏻

My husband claims it was rough. I don't remember it being as bad as his says. 8 hours, natural birth. You're body will know what to do.
