Feeling lost in life.. wrong career choice? Advice please

Hey everyone, I’m 20 years old living in LA with my parents. After graduating high school, I was just working just because I didn’t know what to do yet. When I turned 19 I decided to go back to school. I was just taking general ed classes and I decided to major in nursing. I’m taking anatomy now and I just don’t feel motivated at all. I’m starting to feel pretty down because I don’t know what I want to do in life. I decided to go into the medical field just because I am passionate about taking care of others and I know there’s a great chance of getting a job. I would love to work with children. I’d love to be a kindergarten teacher but I also want to be financially stable. I don’t know what to do. I feel so lost and like a loser. I would really really appreciate any advice 💕

The great thing about nursing is that you can do so many different things.   If you want to work with kids you could work at a pediatric clinic or as a school nurse, and if you get tired of that you can go anywhere else.   There's so much opportunity there.

I had the same problem deciding between nursing and teaching. 
I make $41,000 a year teaching... I work from 7:20 to 4:20 (contract hours) I usually spend another 2 hours prepping. 
I love my students and teaching  but, you’re right it’s  not a livable wage, luckily my husband makes enough to keep me off the streets 😂😂
I would have loved to be a pediatric or neonatal nurse. Better pay by far and you’re still making a difference. 
But, you need to follow your heart too. 
What would make you happiest. That’s most important!! 
Teaching is a great career. So is nursing!

If you can, track down Meg Jay’s book The Defining Decade. I think you’d find many of the concepts enlightening and helpful as you approach your 20s.

I'm in medical school and I had a similar feeling during most of my 1st year. I'm not on my fourth year and I do not see myself doing anything else with my life. 
The basic sciences education in the beginning is hard. Having to remember the name of every single muscle, bone, depressions, artery, and oh my god the brain, it was so much stressful. We saw students crying on the anatomy lab daily. 
But it passed. Now I understand it was important, and the clinical part is so much more fun.

If you aren't feeling the clinical side of things, you can consider administration. So working with the people who work directly with patients. This can get you a 9-5 office job.
