Moved away from home, and I hate you covid.
I've been battling with depression, social anixety and suicidal thoughts since we moved away from our families. (Out of state)
We moved away from our family for my husband's work, I couldn't take my work remotely so I had to leave my job. We've had our ups and downs in regards how this has mentally affected me, I didn't want to feel like a burden on him with no job, on top of being lonely, and infertile (1.5 years trying). We've been relentlessly booking flights, we tested positive for covid (no symptoms at all!), never feeling safe to visit as our parents are older, we just want to be in familiar setting, be close to family/friends, we've cancelled our trip 3, or 4 times. We'll plan for the holidays though *crossing fingers*
Even thought my husband is working remote, moving home isn't an option, so I made several changes to stay active and motivated.
•enrolled into college (I started today!)
•started cooking/baking recipes of dishes I would have never, ever thought I'd make
•started taking classes on my native language, I've been having more conversations with my parents in their native tongue
•started a garden (I know absolutely nothing, trying to DIY from free postings on offeru)
•started a passion project (pressed flowers from the flower shop I work at)
•started fertility treatments
Without thinking how active the last 5, 6 months has been, life's been pretty great. I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need.
What positive changes have you made for yourself during the quarantine?
I hope you too are having a beautiful day! Thank you so much for reading!
