Frozen meat fell on my toddlers toe. 😩

So last night my son opened the freezer and a pack of meat fell onto his toe. He was obviously in immense pain. I elevated it and iced it immediately. His toenail became black maybe 20 min after the fact. He can walk on it with no problems but he slept horrible last night due to the pain. Today he is still walking on it but does have a slight limp. I’m not sure if I should make him an appointment or if it’s a waste of time because there is nothing they would be able to do? Any advice? I feel so bad this happened to him! 😭
