Washing machine cleaner?

I recently learned the hard way that I need to run a tub wash cycle on my washing machine every month to get rid of soap residue. I bought some Affresh tabs, but is there a better brand? I want to make sure I’m using the best ones. I’ve also seen Tide and Oxiclean tub cleaners, so are those better? I have an LG front loading washing machine if that makes a difference. Thanks!
