Breast pump?

I know this question gets asked a lot but I felt I needed some personal stories and explanations for why you chose the breast pump you did. I had a Spectra for last baby and I dont know If I couldn't work it properly or if pumping was just not for me. But I felt I hardly produced any using a pump. I could fill bags but it took hours and I felt it wasn't worth it. Baby grew and was fine, doctors never said I under produced. Any suggestions or comments would be great, thanks!

Hands down best pump! And closer to equal to baby nursing.

I had a Spectra before getting this pump from my lactation consultant. I noticed a significant different in milk production with the Medela. I got more milk and quite frankly I thought it was much easier to use. I did like all the perks the Spectra offered but milk output was more important to me. I was a SAHM after I gave birth so it didn't make a difference if I needed to be attached to the outlet. I really enjoyed my Medela pump and if I were to have more babies I would pick another Medela. I will say my lactation consultant said the Medela was a medical grade pump and the Spectra is not despite being marketed as such. I can't verify the validity of that but I don't see why she would lie about it

The biggest thing with any pump is making sure your flanges are the right size and you are using the settings that optimize your pumping session. I have the spectra and love it. I had to google how to use the settings correctly and that made a big difference. I have small, elastic nipples so I needed different flanges. I use the flanges from pumpin pals and those fit great and allow me to sit comfortably. I know the following link doesn’t work but this website helped me pump a lot more milk.
