COVID/Pregnancy/Mom issues
So I was sick for a month. Tested negative for COVID however still have a lingering cough. That was the hardest month. At one point I had to go to the ER as my oxygen levels needed to be checked babys heartrate needed to be checked and I needed fluids. I had to go alone because of my possible COVID exposure. So sad being pregnant sick and scared and alone.
This is the push back we are getting. My mom was in isolation at a hospital for 3 months and was recently released. After she suffered a stroke leaving her paralyzed. Her view with COVID is she would rather be near family and risk getting sick then be alone again.
Our view is quite different. I am high risk pregnancy already. I was so sick and I couldn't imagine what COVID would do to me. If I had to be hospitalized during my pregnancy we have no family that could care for our toddler if we test positive with COVID either.
My husband has been working and his job isn't following state guidelines and people are getting sick. They are expected to work even waiting for their COVID test results. So my husband is panicking now too. He isn't worried about him or our toddler but me and our unborn baby. My immune system just wouldn't handle that.
We tried explaining to my mom tonight that we don't feel comfortable exposing her to his work germs. That we also don't feel comfortable exposing me to gatherings or getting together. She isn't having it anymore and wants to get together and hurt.
I said it will be very different when it is spring and the baby is here but right now I just cannot get sick again. She knows I have an autoimmune neurological condition. She knows about my previous miscarriages. How my last pregnancy I had ultrasounds two times a week and had to be hospitalized for monitoring baby. I feel so bad because I know she needs me and she is going through the hardest time in her life adapting.
I cried tonight and my husband just held me. He really is so upset with his job. He is angry with how hard this has all been.
How are you all handing life pregnancy and a pandemic?
I am failing miserably.
