Tattoo advice ???

What advice would you give someone getting their first tattoo?  
I am so nervous and scared it’s going to be so painful.

What area are you getting it done at on your body? Make sure to eat so you don’t get dizzy.

Just take someone with you if possible so they can talk to you and keep you distracted if it starts to hurt. Or take some headphones and watch a movie or listen to music. I fell asleep during my first one because it felt good and I just fell right asleep Lol. Good thing I knew the tattoo artist because I slept through the entire thing and she could’ve put anything on me lol

Just eat and have some water with you. If it’s big and will take a while don’t be scared to ask for breaks when you need them. Take someone or something with you to help distract you. I have 13 tattoos. Two on my foot and three on my rib cage, one behind my ear, one on my collar bone, one on my shoulder blade, one on my finger, one on my wrist, one on my arm, one on my waistline, and one on the back of my neck right on my spine. They all felt different and only one on my rib cage actually hurt but it was more of a sting that was super annoying mostly due to its size.

Eat and drink before so you don't get dizzy. Best description of the pain i have is its like a hot mechanical pencil being dragged across your skin. Its definitely manageable, but some areas like the inside of your bicep are more sensitive than others. Your artist should be able to give you a heads up

drink water, get comfortable, my first tattoo was huge and done in one 6 hour session, he did a test line before continuing. i’m now basically covered in tattoos lol, if you take your nail and scratch yourself in one spot until it becomes irritated that’s what a tattoo feels like. tbh i fell asleep during my first one

Also take headphones if you plan on spending more than an hour there. Its amazing though :) also stay away from hand tattoos, face tattoos, or neck tattoos please.... it is extremely hard to find jobs if you can't cover them correctly.

Start small, and look up the tattoo pain chart, they actually have been accurate for myself, but everyone's pain tolerance is very different.
