Words...?

Question

How many word are your babies saying? Louie will say some phrases like:
What's that
That's baby (little brother)
It's dada
Not now
You hold it
But he won't say ANYTHING if you ask him to. He refuses to talk to me or call me mama. If I am out if the house he will talk up a storm but he just assumes I know what he wants and doesn't feel the need to say anything. It is like he is too shy to talk to me. 
What can I do to help him?

Río only say maybe 15 words max and that’s including sounds. His pediatrician said because he’s so active and exceeds physical activities for his age including being potty trained 🥳, that he’s right on track for words and not to worry. We’ll see when he turns 2 though... Sounds like Louie is doing some cool phrases so I wouldn’t worry either. All you can really do is talk to them as much as possible or seek a speech therapist if you’re concerned.

My boys say maybe 10ish words and only one phrase: I did it! 😂
They understand almost everything so I’m not worried. We have our 18 month appt in two weeks, and our ped has never been concerned about how much they’re saying. 
Mine done actively call me Mama regularly, but they do Dada 🙄
I’ve started to point at myself when I say Mama so they know that’s what to say to get my attention.

My little man says about 7 or 8 words that’s all.

She says about 40-50 words at this point and keeps saying new ones every other day. She doesn’t really say phrases yet, but she tries to sing songs and recites some of the lyrics. 
She says daddy and granny but won’t say mummy. Never has. 
She won’t speak if asked though. She talks when she wants to 🤷🏻‍♀️ 
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry. What they say, how much etc depends on their personality too. It sounds like he’s on track. 
Just keep talking, pointing, reading, singing and eventually it’ll come naturally to him.

He’s saying a new word almost every day at this point, but no phrases. He understands a lot more than he says, and will do tasks that are asked like sit down, don’t pull fur, put shoes on.

My son says about 25+ words. He also says phrases like Thank you, which is his favorite. All done. Bye bye. Whats that. No no! 
But yeah, he doesn't really like to talk when I ask him. He knows the words for please, all done, and more, but he'd rather sign them than say them. He's a loooot more talkative at home than he his out in public and at other people's houses. 
But I've noticed he picks up on sign language super well and he's able to communicate that way. Even if he talks as clear as a bell. I think maybe its just easier for him. 😂 lazy. Lol.

My daughter knows about 30-40 words and can say about 3 phrases (mama shark, whats that, all done).
If she points to something,I just repeat it. Example, if she points the  broccoli. I will say "you want more broccoli?. Say broccoli." If you repeat it enough times, they will get it. 
Maybe he is stubborn too haha. Sometimes my daughter won't say it because I want her to say it.
