Can it be sprained?? should i take him to the ER?

Help my son fell about 10 min ago and hit his pinky toe while I was in the restroom hes 5 so he likes to jump everywhere and off everything, anyway im just wondering if i should take him to the ER or something Helpppp this has never happened before 😩

Not much you could do if it was broken.
They might give him an xray and like a hard sole cast shoe possibly.

If he can’t put his shoe on tomorrow yes, my nephew did it but a skateboard hit the same part after a day he couldn’t bear ouch weight and it hurt to put a shoe on he had a hair line fracture and casted for 2 weeks he was 5/6

I’ve fractured my pinky toe. They just take and X-ray and give you a boot 🤷‍♀️ nothing to be done. Just give pain meds and stay off their feet.

I’d go to the doctors in the morning and ice it for now. If he can’t walk or is screaming in pain for a long time, then go to the ER. But if you can wait, I’d do that.

I personally would ice it and wait until the morning. You could also talk to your pediatrician, they might have a better place to take him for x-rays. The ER is likely to have lots of COVID cases.

I would take him to be sure and also if it is so that it heals properly. My friend broke his toe and it didnt heal properly cause he didnt take it seriously and they had to re break it to make it straight. They gave him laughing gas and the doctor broke the bone again and then put a splint on it

If he’s in a lot of pain or having difficulty moving his foot or toes just to check it isn’t fractured. If not, I’d just use an ice pack, keep an eye on it and contact your doctor if it seems to get worse.
